Kolon Benit Internalizes ‘Selective Data Migration’ to Accelerate SAP Transition

[By Dailyan – Reporter Jo Inyoung] Kolon Benit announced on the 24th that it has successfully internalized the core technology of Selective Data Transition from EPI-USE Labs, a global software company specializing in optimizing SAP system landscapes and data conversion. This technology is being applied to their clients’ SAP system environments.

Kolon Benit is currently utilizing this technology to transition the HR management system of a leading domestic food company. The ongoing project involves upgrading the existing SAP HCM (Human Capital Management) On-Premise system to the S/4HANA PCE (Private Cloud Edition) environment, which is expected to be completed within the year.

This achievement is the outcome of the technological collaboration based on the partnership Kolon Benit established with EPI-USE Labs last year. As a result, Kolon Benit has gained recognition for the efficiency and stability of its SAP S/4HANA transition projects.

Through the internalization of EPI-USE Labs’ Selective Data Transition technology, Kolon Benit has developed an automated system that can selectively transfer, verify, and track only the necessary data during SAP S/4HANA transitions. Kolon Benit has secured the ability to perform quality assurance (Verification) for transitions to the SAP S/4HANA PCE environment, significantly reducing project timelines and transition error rates.

During this process, Kolon Benit utilized the Data Sync Manager, a proprietary software by EPI-USE Labs that has been SAP certified. This software minimizes business instability that might occur during SAP S/4HANA transition projects by selectively extracting only non-Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data. This functionality ensures thorough protection of PII during migration projects involving sensitive HR and Payroll data.

Kolon Benit plans to expand the application scope of this Selective Data Transition technology to companies pursuing SAP S/4HANA transitions. There is high anticipation for demand from companies with complex ERP systems due to running multiple subsidiaries or undergoing M&A activities. The adoption of this technology allows for simplified ERP system landscapes through data-centric optimization, along with cost savings on cloud subscription fees.

Stefan Owens, a partner at EPI-USE Labs, stated, “Through our technological collaboration with Kolon Benit, we aim to drive the acceleration of SAP transitions in the Asian market.”

Jung Juyoung, Executive Managing Director at Kolon Benit’s ITS Division, stated, “By leveraging the data transfer technology, a key stage in SAP transitions, we will provide comprehensive transition services to SAP S/4HANA transition clients, offering global-level ERP transition services to the domestic market.”
