Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, the festival was themed ‘Learning AI, Running to Tomorrow,’ aiming to encourage everyone in the nation to proactively respond to future societal changes based on AI competencies. A total of 211 contents were open to the public, offering opportunities to learn and enjoy the value and potential of AI and SW education through special exhibitions, displays, experiences, and challenges.

A diverse array of display and experience booths, implemented through AI, also captivated attendees. Notably, the festival included the achievement presentations from the ‘SW Companion Project,’ a gov’t-led AI/SW education initiative for middle and high school clubs, and the excellent educational programs of ‘SW Miracheum’ and ‘Digital Sprout’ supporting the expansion of AI/SW education in primary and secondary schools, as well as software projects developed by students from ‘SW Meister High Schools.’

Lee Do-kyu, Director of Information and Communication Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “AI is not simply the emergence of a new technology; it is revolutionizing our daily lives,” and expressed hopes that the festival would be an opportunity for students to naturally experience AI and SW, widely spreading the value of AI education throughout society.
Jang Hong-jae, Head of Educational Policy at the Ministry of Education, emphasized, “It is crucial that our students, who will live in the AI era, possess the competence to use AI safely and responsibly,” and stated that continuous support will be provided to school sites to ensure every student can develop basic AI proficiency through school education.
