Buyers are voicing their complaints about the discoloration of the high-priced iPhone 17 Pro series. On the online community Reddit, a consumer who purchased the iPhone 17 Pro in Cosmic Orange posted photos claiming that the color turned pink within two weeks.
Not only are complaints coming in about the Cosmic Orange, but some users of the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Deep Blue are also reporting that discoloration started at the camera module and gradually spread.
Similarly, in domestic online communities, there are posts from people who experienced discoloration just a month after purchasing the iPhone 17 Pro in Cosmic Orange. One of these posts mentions, “I had a clear case on, and only the exposed areas discolored,” expressing frustration with, “How can a 1.79 million won phone have this issue?”
Although the cause of the discoloration has not been identified, some speculate that by using aluminum instead of titanium in the iPhone 17 series, Apple may have led to oxidation when the aluminum came into contact with air, resulting in the discoloration.
Apple has yet to release an official statement on this matter.
The iPhone 17 Pro lineup starts at 1.79 million won for the iPhone 17 Pro and 1.99 million won for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
