A member of the U.S. House Oversight Committee and overseer of UFO reports, Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett, made a statement claiming that extraterrestrial life forms might currently reside in the deep seas of Earth. According to the Daily Mail and Newsis, he asserted that there are 5 to 6 underwater UFO bases near the American coast where highly developed extraterrestrial beings are hiding.
As reported by the Daily Mail on the 28th, Congressman Tim Burchett stated in a recent interview that “extraterrestrial life forms might be living in the deep seas of Earth.” Since being released on X (formerly Twitter) on the 17th, the video of this statement has been viewed over 1.9 million times.
Burchett noted that there are frequent UFO sightings reported in specific deep-sea areas and that “U.S. Navy personnel have tracked these underwater vehicles, which reportedly move at speeds far exceeding American military technology.”
However, no verified physical evidence (such as artifacts or clear images) confirming the existence of underwater vehicles has been released so far. Following Burchett’s remarks, researcher and author on extraterrestrial phenomena, Dr. Michael Salla, disclosed presumed specific locations of these UFO bases.
Dr. Salla pointed to a region in the Atlantic near the Bahamas, claiming the U.S. Navy operates a highly classified underwater facility there called the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC).
In a podcast aired on the 19th covering UFOs and government secrets, Dr. Salla mentioned a deep area near the Bahamas known as the “Tongue of the Ocean” with depths plummeting to about 3,000 feet (914 meters). He described it as an ideal location for submarines, where many UFOs and underwater craft have been spotted entering or leaving the water. He also claimed to have interviewed two eyewitnesses directly.
One of these witnesses, using the pseudonym JP, is an Army whistleblower who reported that during a mission, he traveled by Blackhawk helicopter to a sea platform, later boarding an advanced submarine piloted by extraterrestrials resembling Northern Europeans.
He added that the submarine he boarded was capable of space travel and took him to an underwater city resembling Dubai with a white pyramid under a dome. However, no physical evidence supporting these claims has been presented.
In the interview posted on X, Burchett reiterated that navy officials have shared such sightings with him. He noted that the underwater vehicles they are pursuing travel at hundreds of miles per hour, while the top technology they possess does not exceed 40 miles per hour.
