Safety Accident Prevention Meeting with Security Companies
Guideline Sharing Including Submission of Usage Plans
Incheon Airport Corporation has actively taken measures to prevent safety accidents caused by airport congestion during celebrity arrivals and departures.
The Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 29th that it held a meeting with security company representatives responsible for the security of celebrities during their departures to create a safe travel environment.
The meeting was arranged to discuss countermeasures between relevant organizations due to increased congestion and potential issues for general passengers, as farewell crowds often gather during the departure of famous individuals.
Congestion and disturbances caused by celebrities departing or arriving at Incheon Airport are frequent occurrences. When popular celebrities, such as idols, appear at the airport for international travel, both domestic and foreign fans and other airport users gather all at once, causing chaos.
In July of last year, there was an incident where excessive security for actor Byun Woo-seok’s departure resulted in inconvenience to other airport users.
To reduce such confusion and inconvenience, participants in the meeting suggested various improvement measures to establish a quiet and safe departure culture. The airport corporation decided to require submission of an “Airport Usage Plan” before airport use, guide adherence to airport regulations and safety orders during celebrity security details to prevent unexpected situations, and minimize inconvenience to general travelers. Additionally, the attendees shared security guidelines to be followed within the airport during celebrity arrivals and departures.
