Donald Trump, the U.S. President, is scheduled to deliver a speech at a large-scale conference attended by hundreds of senior U.S. military commanders from around the world.
The Washington Post reported, citing internal Pentagon documents, that President Trump will attend the Joint Commanders Conference held at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, on the 30th local time.
This rare conference, convened by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, is expected to gather hundreds of commanders ranked brigadier general and above, along with senior non-commissioned officers.
While the U.S. Department of Defense has not disclosed the reason for convening the meeting, there are concerns that if the government enters a shutdown on the meeting date, which is the end of the U.S. administration’s fiscal year, the movement of key personnel may be restricted.
