On the 15th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced the arrest of a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on murder charges for killing a woman with whom he was in a common-law relationship at a golf course in Geoje City.

Mr. A is accused of murdering Ms. B, a woman in her 50s, at a golf course in Geoje City around 10:35 a.m. on the 5th. On the day of the incident, Mr. A reportedly disguised himself as a golf course worker, entered early, and approached Ms. B, who was working as a caddie, to commit the crime.

It was revealed that Mr. A accessed the golf course by following a walking trail used by residents of a nearby apartment complex. Although the two had been in a common-law relationship for several years, they had been living separately following an assault incident in July.

At that time, police provided Ms. B, the victim of the assault, with a smartwatch and increased patrols around her residence. However, on the day of the incident, Ms. B had her smartwatch but reportedly kept it in her locker due to work conditions.

It is said that Mr. A planned the crime after Ms. B avoided contact and they had experienced financial disputes following their separation. After the crime, Mr. A attempted self-harm but was rescued by emergency medical responders and was discharged from the hospital on the 12th.

Police plan to investigate Mr. A for detailed circumstances surrounding the crime.
