Rosé becomes the first K-pop singer to win the ‘Song of the Year’ award at the MTV VMAs.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé became the first K-pop artist to win a major category at the MTV Video Music Awards in the United States. The “2025 MTV Video Music Awards” (referred to as “2025 MTV VMA”) took place on the 8th at the UBS Arena in New York. At the awards ceremony, Rosé won the Song of the Year category with her collaboration track “Apartment,” released last year with American pop star Bruno Mars, making her the first K-pop artist to win an award in a major category at this event.
