EWP to Build Generative AI Platform,
“[Digital Daily] Reporter Lee Nayun: AI software specialist Conan Technology announced on the 2nd that it has been selected and contracted as the service provider for building the ‘EWP (East-West Power Corporation) Generative AI Platform’ for Korea East-West Power. The entire project contract is valued at 4.6 billion KRW, with a project duration of one year. Korea East-West Power initiated this project to build an EWP AI platform to lead smart energy transition. The goal is to implement an integrated generative AI platform in an on-premises environment to achieve both internal data security and innovation in operations. Conan Technology will automate a range of administrative tasks, including electronic document drafting, report writing, meeting record organization, and regulation/law Q&A. In addition, the platform will be enhanced in reliability and performance by applying technologies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based knowledge search, dual-mode AI, sensitive information filtering, and user feedback learning (RLHF). Further, plans include integrating a training and inference environment based on GPU servers, specialized language models, and technologies for processing unstructured data such as STT (Speech to Text) and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to increase the platform’s completeness. Through this project, Korea East-West Power expects to achieve two key objectives: innovation in work processes and enhanced internal information security. CEO Kim Young-sum expressed, “It is an honor to be part of the AI transformation (AX) journey of domestic power companies, and we are committed to enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic energy industry through AI.” Additionally, he noted, “As major power companies continue to advance generative AI projects, the application scope is expected to expand to areas like predictive maintenance of power equipment and facilities (PHM). Conan Technology will advance its development of custom AI technology for power companies to align with these industrial trends.”
