Daejeon Sarang Card Cashback Expanded to 13%… Implemented Until the End of the Year

Expected Increase in Sales for Small Businesses and Revitalization of Local Economy

Daejeon City will increase the cashback benefits of the Daejeon Love Card from 10% to 13% starting September 1 until the end of the year (or until the budget is exhausted).

This measure is supported by additional city funding alongside the government’s second supplementary budget. Daejeon aims to issue cards totaling 260 billion won.

The recharge limit for the Daejeon Love Card is set at 500,000 won per month, and if fully utilized, users can receive up to 65,000 won in cashback.

This is an increase of 15,000 won compared to August.

However, usage is restricted to merchants in Daejeon with annual sales of 3 billion won or less, and departments stores, large supermarkets, and entertainment venues are excluded.

Daejeon started the policy with a 7% cashback in July and raised it to 10% in August.

Since the introduction of the policy, card usage has steadily increased, with August’s issuance expected to reach 40 billion won, a 50% increase compared to the previous month.

Furthermore, the number of affiliated businesses, including traditional markets, restaurants, and hair salons, has been expanded to 64,000, enhancing citizen convenience and operational infrastructure.

Kwon Kyoung-min, Director of the Economic Department of Daejeon City, stated, “The expansion of the Daejeon Love Card cashback will further strengthen the virtuous cycle of the local economy, benefiting both citizens and small businesses. We hope many citizens will actively use this service.”
