Singer Kim Gun-mo is making a comeback to the music industry after six years with a nationwide concert tour. The concert production company, IStar Media Company, announced on the 26th that Kim Gun-mo will hold a nationwide tour concert titled ‘Kim Gun Mo.’ Starting with a performance in Busan on the 27th of next month, the tour will continue in Daegu on October 18, Daejeon on December 20, and conclude with a performance in Seoul in January next year. Detailed schedules will be announced later.
The production company stated, “Although Kim Gun-mo has been away from the stage, according to those close to him, he has never let go of music even for a moment,” and added, “His music did not stop during the hiatus.”
Kim Gun-mo is resuming his activities six years after being embroiled in sexual assault allegations in 2019. Known for numerous hit songs such as “Excuse” and “Wrong Encounter,” and his appearances on entertainment shows, Kim Gun-mo halted all activities after the allegations surfaced.
A woman, referred to as Ms. A, claimed that Kim Gun-mo sexually assaulted her at a pub in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in 2016. After investigating the statements and evidence, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office concluded in November 2021 that there was no sufficient basis for the charges, resulting in a decision of ‘no charges.’ Ms. A immediately appealed, but the Seoul High Prosecutors’ Office also decided not to indict after reviewing the case for about six months.
