Lee Seung-gi, married to Lee Da-in, shares first thoughts on estrangement with in-laws: “I am looking inward” (Livewire)

Singer Lee Seung-gi expressed his ambition on Mnet’s “Live Wire,” saying, “I feel most excited and enjoy music the most. My goal is to create a mega-hit song in five years.”

In the 7th episode of Mnet’s music talk show “Live Wire,” scheduled to air on August 1st, Lee Seung-gi will reunite with Jeon In-kwon of the band Deulgukhwa. The two first met in 2017 on a variety show and are reuniting after approximately eight years for a special moment.

On this broadcast, Lee Seung-gi describes Jeon In-kwon: “He seems to have a difficult image, but in reality, he’s very warm and a bit clumsy.” He encourages viewers to relax and enjoy themselves, noting that even the two MCs, Jung Jae-hyung and Code Kunst, along with the audience, appeared nervous upon Jeon’s entrance. Lee humorously compares the situation to “an army general visiting the barracks,” eliciting laughter.

Lee Seung-gi also mentioned focusing more on his music career recently rather than appearing on variety shows. He said, “I’ve been spending time looking inward. When I ask myself what excites and interests me the most, it’s definitely ‘music’ and ‘singing.’ I’m continuously practicing and taking vocal lessons as I’m not naturally talented.”

Additionally, marking his 20th debut anniversary, Lee aims to create a song that people will remember beyond his past musical achievements. He aspires to compose a mega-hit track that 90% of people can recognize within the first three seconds of playing within five years. He dreams of creating a song everyone knows, which he believes would bring him immense joy. When Jung Jae-hyung sought advice from Jeon In-kwon, who has multiple mega-hits like “It’s My Life” and “Don’t Worry Dear,” Jeon’s unexpected response reportedly filled the studio with laughter.

Amidst curiosity about Jeon’s advice, anticipation grows for the duo’s cross-generational duet performance. There is heightened interest in the musical harmony these two artists, each from different music genres, will create.

Lee Seung-gi and Jeon In-kwon’s friendship, candid musical stories, and duet performance will be featured in the 7th episode of “Live Wire,” airing simultaneously on Mnet and tvN at 7 PM on August 1.
