Chef Lee Yeon-bok’s brand ‘The Mokran’ is involved in an urgent recall of its ready-to-eat product ‘Lee Yeon-bok’s Lucky Bag Hanwoo Woogeoji Soup’ by the Food and Drug Administration. The recall was prompted due to E. coli levels exceeding the standard limits in the product. The Food and Drug Administration announced these findings on the 15th, stating that the product, manufactured by Nol Da Food in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, and sold by The Mokran, contained bacteria and E. coli above the permissible levels.
The product subject to recall has a consumption deadline of July 7, 2026. Namyangju City Hall has sent an ’emergency recall notice for hazardous foods’ to each local government, and the necessary actions are being taken. The FDA advises consumers who purchased the product to stop consumption and return it to the distributor.
Chef Lee is a well-known Chinese cuisine chef and TV personality who opened the Chinese restaurant ‘Mokran’ in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, in 1998, and is also selling various ready-to-eat food products under the brand name ‘The Mokran.’
