Paju City has announced that it has received certification for joining the Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities (GNAFCC) from the World Health Organization (WHO). The Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities is a worldwide project initiated by the WHO in 2006 to effectively address issues that may arise in an aging society. To receive certification, cities must pass evaluations in eight areas, including housing, transportation, and social participation. Following the certification, Paju City plans to implement legislation for age-friendly cities and undertake 42 projects across eight areas, including health management using artificial intelligence robots and energy welfare support projects to cope with heatwaves.
