**Hyundai Rotem Unveils In-house Developed Press Equipment for Electric Vehicle Core Component Production**
On the 17th, Hyundai Rotem announced its participation in the “China International Metal Forming Exhibition 2025,” set to take place in Shanghai, China, from the 17th to the 20th (local time).
The international metal forming exhibition is Asia’s largest exhibition showcasing the latest technologies and equipment in the metal forming industry. This year’s exhibition consists of six sub-themes: processing equipment, molds, automation systems, welding and joining technology, quality control, and industrial robots.
At this exhibition, Hyundai Rotem plans to showcase its in-house developed press equipment targeting the domestic and international automotive industry and the metal industry, including China.
Hyundai Rotem’s featured product, the laminated press, is a high-speed, high-precision facility for producing high-efficiency motor cores used in electric vehicles. The motor core is a crucial component that determines the driving range and acceleration performance of an electric vehicle’s motor.
The laminated press produces motor cores by layering thin steel plates, and Hyundai Rotem possesses the capability to form with high precision at up to 300 cycles per minute.
The exhibition will also feature a high-speed press line for battery cans. The high-speed battery can press produces cylindrical battery cans for electric vehicles and can form up to 1,200 of the 4680 battery cans per minute.
Hyundai Rotem offers an optimal mass production solution by linking the first-process press (cupping press) and the second-process press (redraw press) of the battery can high-speed press line.
Additionally, Hyundai Rotem has a diverse lineup of press solutions, including servo presses, mechanical presses, and special forming presses, and plans to accelerate business expansion in the global market through this exhibition.
A Hyundai Rotem representative stated, “This is an important opportunity to introduce Hyundai Rotem’s press technology to the global market,” and added, “We will seek new growth opportunities through active research and development.”
