Son Yeon-jae confessed, “My husband wanted to have a baby quickly. I wasn’t in a rush and suggested we consider it in about a year. As the newlywed period flew by and the planned season approached, I found myself in tears.”

She continued, “I cried thinking, ‘I can’t give up my life like this.’ When I told my husband that I couldn’t get pregnant, he was upset but said, ‘It’s natural for you to feel that way, since your body will change.’ So, I composed myself and planned for May and June.”

Son Yeon-jae added, “Setting a specific date felt really strange. I thought it would be nice if it happened naturally, so we went on a month-long trip to Europe. When we returned, I found out I was pregnant.”

Son Yeon-jae drew attention when she revealed she wanted her first child to be a daughter. She said, “Since I’m an only child and don’t have any brothers, I wasn’t familiar with baby boys. I was determined to have a daughter and thought it would be nice if the second child was a son. So, I didn’t think it would be a son.”

“My husband wanted a son. It seems men have that kind of dream. He had plans to go camping with a son and do sports. I never went to the hospital alone during the pregnancy and delivery; I always went with him. I didn’t cry, but my husband did when he heard the baby’s gender,” she recalled.

In the meantime, Son Yeon-jae married a financier in August 2022 and gave birth to a son in February last year. She is currently operating ‘Leaf Studio’ and nurturing promising rhythmic gymnasts.
