Daytime High of 33°C ‘Early Summer Heat’… Onset of Intense Heat

For the time being, the temperature in inland areas will exceed 30 degrees Celsius during the day.

On Monday, the 9th, it will be mostly cloudy across the country, but it will clear from the afternoon, and the perceived maximum temperature will rise above 31 degrees Celsius, especially in inland areas, making it hot.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has forecasted that daytime temperatures will exceed 30 degrees Celsius in many inland areas for now, which will be similar to or slightly higher than the average (lowest 14-18 degrees, highest 22-28 degrees).

The minimum morning temperature is expected to be 18-21 degrees, while the maximum daytime temperature is expected to be 25-33 degrees.

The expected minimum and maximum temperatures in major cities are 20 and 30 degrees in Seoul, 19 and 26 degrees in Incheon, 20 and 31 degrees in Daejeon, Gwangju, and Daegu, 18 and 27 degrees in Ulsan, and 20 and 25 degrees in Busan. In Gumi, Gyeongbuk, the temperature will rise to 33 degrees during the day.

For now, daytime temperatures will exceed 30 degrees Celsius in inland areas.

Particularly until the 10th, the perceived maximum temperature will rise above 31 degrees Celsius in some inland areas of Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang regions, so special attention should be given to heat-related illnesses and outdoor workplace safety.

There will be dense fog in the inland northwest Gyeonggi, the west coast, and the south coast until the morning of the day. Some areas may experience drizzle, so caution is required for traffic safety.

Fine dust levels are expected to be in the ‘good’ to ‘moderate’ range across all regions.
