Lee Jae-myung and Lee Jun-seok head to Bongha for the 16th anniversary of the late Roh’s passing… Kim Moon-soo focuses on debate.

On the 16th anniversary of the passing of former President Roh Moo-hyun on the 23rd, the 6·3 presidential election candidates are visiting Bongha Village in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do. According to political sources, Lee Jae-myung from the Democratic Party and Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party are planning to pay their respects at the former president’s grave.

Lee Jae-myung started canvassing in the Gyeongnam region on the 22nd, aligning his efforts with the anniversary of Roh’s passing. He also met Father Song Ki-in, known as a mentor to Roh, for advice. During his visit to Bongha Village, Lee Jae-myung is expected to pledge to continue the legacy of “a world where people live,” a dream of Roh’s, and to establish the fourth democratic government.

Similarly, Lee Jun-seok will visit Roh’s grave. Branding himself as the “little Roh Moo-hyun,” he aims to highlight that it is he, not the Democratic Party, who inherits Roh’s spirit. His official campaign began in Busan and Yeosu, reminiscent of Roh’s homage.

Meanwhile, Kim Moon-soo from the People’s Power Party will attend a breakfast prayer meeting at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul and focus on preparing for the second TV debate organized by the National Election Broadcasting Debate Commission. He plans to concentrate efforts on the debate to check the leading candidate, Lee Jae-myung.

The TV debate that day is expected to continue previous discussions where Kim and Lee Jun-seok jointly critiqued Lee Jae-myung’s economic policies. This upcoming debate, focusing on social issues, could see a focus on national pension reform and Lee Jae-myung’s legal risks.
