Police Investigate Accuser in ‘Yoon Suk-yeol’s In-laws’ Nursing Home Abuse Allegations’

Jung Chunsang, a member of the National Innovation Party, speaks.

Regarding the case where a nursing home in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, operated by the family of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, was reported on charges of elder abuse, the police conducted an investigation with the complainant.

The Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency summoned Jung Chunsang, a member of the National Innovation Party who filed the complaint, to investigate the details of the report.

Before the police investigation, Representative Jung stated, “The nursing home in question not only suffered from simple mismanagement but also faced serious abuse and illegal operations,” adding, “An elderly person in their 80s, who had been suffering from diarrhea for over three weeks, passed away without being transferred to a hospital.”

He further urged, “The Yoon Seok-yeol administration has shown no oversight or inspection of Kim Keon-hee’s family. I request the police to thoroughly investigate using all possible means.”

The National Innovation Party had previously filed a police report against Choi Eun-soon, former president Yoon’s mother-in-law, and Kim Jin-woo, his brother-in-law, alleging that an elderly resident died due to lack of appropriate measures at the nursing home they operated. They are charged with abandonment resulting in death and violation of the Welfare of Senior Citizens Act.
