[Digital Daily Reporter Kang Ki-hoon] KB Financial Group announced on the 15th that it opened the industry’s first group-wide generative AI platform, “KB GenAI Portal,” based on “Agentic AI.” This initiative aims to lead the innovation in employees’ working styles and financial services.
The KB GenAI Portal is a generative AI technology utilization platform designed to develop AI agents that can autonomously understand objectives, plan necessary tasks, and execute them. This platform responds to diverse demands from sales fields and customers.
KB Financial Holdings and its 8 subsidiaries (KB Kookmin Bank, KB Securities, KB Insurance, KB Kookmin Card, KB Life Insurance, KB Asset Management, KB Capital, and KB Savings Bank) collaborated in this initiative.
With the establishment of the KB GenAI Portal, major subsidiaries of KB Financial can now achieve flexible adaptability to the latest technological changes, utilize generative AI technology safely and reliably, and secure group-wide technology for business application of generative AI technology.
In particular, in the shifting technology paradigm from generative AI to agentic AI, which allows for autonomous judgment and problem-solving, KB Financial proactively established a group-wide generative AI technology platform.
KB Financial provides a comprehensive range of development environments within the platform, from beginner (No-Code), intermediate (Low-Code), to advanced (Pro Developers), allowing any employee to directly utilize AI and develop AI agents.
As a result, even employees without IT development experience can create their own AI agents and apply them to their work. The spread of financial services based on generative AI technology is expected to accelerate further.
Considering the sales field and customer demand, KB Financial is prioritizing the development of various agents, including financial consulting, private banker (PB), and relationship manager (RM) agents for Kookmin Bank, asset management and consulting support agents for KB Securities, insurance consulting agents for KB Insurance, card consulting agents for KB Kookmin Card, and insurance agents for KB Life Insurance.
These AI agents will be sequentially implemented along with the opening of the KB GenAI Portal. With automated investment research, market analysis summaries, corporate analysis, and personalized proposals via sector-specific AI agents, KB Financial employees are expected to significantly improve their ways of working.
A representative from KB Financial stated, “With proactive preparations, we have established an environment where all employees can utilize AI not merely as a tool but as a co-agent for collaboration,” adding that this will serve as a key measure to enhance the productivity and digital capabilities of the entire group based on AI technology.
Furthermore, the representative noted, “In the next three years, KB Financial plans to introduce over 90 agents gradually across 17 major business areas, including wealth management, personal finance, and corporate finance, linking the AI strategy to tangible business outcomes.”
Meanwhile, in December of last year, KB Financial designated innovative financial services covering the most significant number of major subsidiaries—8 in total—to provide customer-centered innovative financial services by adopting the latest generative AI technology.
Additionally, in March, Kookmin Bank established AI governance to create a responsible management framework for AI innovation.
