KT Cloud participates in ‘Locked Shields 2025,’ the world’s largest cyber defense exercise.

(Seoul=News1) Reporter Kim Jeong-hyun: On the 12th, KT Cloud announced its participation in the ‘Locked Shields 2025’, the world’s largest international cyber defense exercise organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). Locked Shields is a real-time cyber attack and defense exercise held annually since 2010 by the NATO Cyber Defense Center to enhance cyber crisis response cooperation among member countries. South Korea has officially participated since 2021.

This year’s exercise was the largest to date, involving 45 domestic civilian, government, and military organizations and over 170 security experts. KT Cloud, acting as a cyber partner, conducted a five-day training from May 5th to 9th to prepare for cyber conflict scenarios between virtual nations.

In the exercise, KT Cloud was tasked with the real-time cyber defense of key information and communication infrastructures, including the virtual nation’s 5G network. This included vulnerability analysis of major communication systems, threat detection, malware spread containment, and real-time response based on compromise indicators across various cyber attack scenario exercises.

Choi Ji-woong, CEO of KT Cloud, stated, “We are honored to participate in the defense of national key infrastructure as a team member in the world’s largest cyber combat exercise.”
