Incheon Police Agency operates 24-hour integrated election security situation room ahead of presidential election

(Incheon=Yonhap News) Reporter Hong Hyun-ki = The Incheon Police Agency announced on the 12th that it will operate an integrated election security control room in preparation for the 21st presidential election.

The control rooms have been set up at the Incheon Police Agency and all of its 10 subordinate police stations, and will operate 24 hours a day from the start of the presidential campaign, which begins today, until the end of ballot counting the day after election day (June 3).

The control rooms will oversee election-related security activities, such as ensuring safety during campaign rallies, transporting ballot boxes, and managing polling stations and counting centers.

On election day, the police plan to issue a maximum emergency work status, known as ‘Gapho Emergency,’ from 6 a.m.

Kim Do-hyung, the Chief of the Incheon Police Agency, stated, “This presidential election is expected to have a higher demand for security than ever before,” and added, “We will do our utmost to ensure a safe, clean, and fair election by strengthening security measures.”
