, ‘A new apartment complex for newlywed couples, Mirinae Housing and sales housing, will be developed in the Seongdui Village, located at the foot of Mount Woomyeon in Seocho District, with a total of 900 units.’

“The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 25th that they conditionally approved the ‘Seocho Seongdui Village Public Housing District A1 complex housing construction project plan change (proposal)’ at the 2nd Public Housing Integration Committee meeting.”

In Seongdui Village (30,350㎡), an apartment complex with 900 units, including 327 Mirinae Housing units and 292 for sale, with 2 basement levels to 20 stories high will be built. The plan for housing supply was expanded by altering the district unit plan in July of last year.

The housing types will consist of various sizes, including 31, 36, 51, and 59 square meters, and will be developed as a social-mix complex combining rental and sale housing. The project plan is subject to future changes.

The site had long been concentrated with unauthorized structures, leading to indiscriminate development, damaging the landscape, and posing fire and landslide risks, making residential environment improvement urgent.

“Seongdui Village will be developed as a ‘Gardening City’ where you can encounter a garden every ten steps. The city plans to preserve the original terrain as much as possible from the design stage, planning seven gardens connected with 15 landscape yards, a children’s playground, and resident exercise facilities within the complex.”

Community facilities such as fitness centers, libraries, community cafes, daycare centers, and senior centers will be placed on the lower floors of each building, linked with gardens. Neighboring living facilities will be established along the outer roads of the complex, ensuring openness with pedestrian paths and view corridors.

The city plans to proceed with the project aiming for approval of the housing construction project plan changes within the first half of this year, starting construction in the first half of 2026, announcing recruitments for residents after completion in the first half of 2027, and final completion in the first half of 2029.

Choi Jin-seok, the Seoul City Housing Director, stated, “The A1 complex housing construction project plan in Seongdui Village has passed this review, entering a full-fledged development track. We expect the damaged area at the foot of Mount Woomyeon to transform into a nature-friendly residential complex, contributing to housing stability and regional revitalization.”
