Interest is gathering around the comeback of Sung Yu-ri, a former member of Fin.K.L. After her husband, Ahn Sung-hyun, was imprisoned, Sung Yu-ri seems poised to return via a home shopping program. Recently, the official GS Shop account posted a video introducing a new launch. The event post included, “Do you recognize this silhouette? South Korea’s legendary wannabe has appeared?! That familiar silhouette… Is it really that person? If you have a hunch, guess now.”
Hints such as “original fairy,” “Thousand Years of Love,” and “Healing Camp” were mentioned. The hints suggest that it’s Sung Yu-ri, the original fairy of Fin.K.L, and the actress from “Thousand Years of Love” with So Ji-sub, as well as the host of “Healing Camp.” The silhouette featured in the revealed video captured attention, and many netizens are speculating that it is indeed Sung Yu-ri.
Previously, Ahn Sung-hyun and former Bithumb Holdings CEO Lee Sang-jun were charged in 2021 with receiving a request from businessman Kang Jong-hyun to list two types of so-called “kimchi coins” on Bithumb in exchange for 3 billion won in cash, two luxury watches, and a high-end restaurant membership card. Ahn is also accused of defrauding Kang of 2 billion won by claiming that Lee was demanding the bribe money quickly. He is reported to have received luxury goods worth about 44 million won, including a 30 million won luxury bag, from Kang.
Sung Yu-ri married former pro golfer Ahn Sung-hyun in 2017, and they have twin daughters. After her husband’s incident, Sung Yu-ri expressed her frustrations on her social media, stating, “I pray for the truth to be revealed regarding the unfair and difficult situations,” yet she eventually ended up supporting her husband during his imprisonment.
