Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan Launch Support Teams for Wildfire Damage Recovery

[Financial News] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 21st that it will be operating the ‘Support Group for Forest Fire Damage Recovery in the Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan Regions.’

The support group has been established as a dedicated organization to assist disaster victims and coordinate projects with related agencies in response to the largest wildfire damage ever recorded in March.

Led by the Director of the Disaster Recovery Support Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the group consists of 12 members divided into two teams: the Damage Recovery Support Team and the Support Team for Disaster Victims.

The participating agencies include the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, as well as the provinces of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do.

The support group will prepare specific action plans for disaster victim relief and forest fire damage recovery in accordance with the recovery plan, and will continuously manage and support the implementation of these measures.

The group will promote measures such as the installation and management of temporary housing facilities, the creation of customized housing complexes for each region, linking departmental support projects, providing psychological and medical support for victims, and improving related aid systems.

In particular, the group plans to thoroughly review requests and suggestions from the affected local governments and disaster victims to provide maximum support.
