Han Duck-soo meets the Governor of Maryland, U.S… Requests interest in tariff negotiations

On the 16th, Acting President Han Duck-soo greeted Wes Moore, the Governor of Maryland, USA, before their breakfast meeting at a hotel in Seoul. They discussed future industrial cooperation and the Korea-US alliance.

During the meeting, which included a breakfast with Governor Moore who was visiting with a trade delegation, Han stated, “Cooperation between Maryland, a hub of advanced technology industries like quantum, bio-pharmaceutical, and space, and our government, companies, and research institutions is expanding. I hope that Korea and Maryland will continue to lead the future industrial development together.”

Governor Moore highlighted the contribution of Korean companies in Maryland, known for their exceptional creativity and innovation in quantum, bio, and space sectors, and expressed his commitment to further enhancing cooperation between Korea and Maryland.

They also exchanged views on U.S. tariff policies. Han mentioned his conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, stating “We are communicating, cooperating, and negotiating at ministerial levels to find win-win solutions with the U.S.” and asked for Governor Moore’s interest in these efforts.

Governor Moore expressed his hope for successful negotiations with the U.S. administration, given the importance of Korea-U.S. relations, and assured support within his ability.
