“Is the era of reason and common sense, as stated by the Prime Minister, an era that endorses rebellion?” “During the three years of the People Power Party’s rule, there has been a low economic growth rate of 1%, which is a failing economic report card.”
Park Chan-dae, the acting representative of the Democratic Party and floor leader, criticized acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo at a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. Park stated, “Rebellion endorsements happen swiftly, yet counter-rebellion investigations are thoroughly defended; hence, he is being called the ‘acting leader of rebellion.’ I urge the immediate withdrawal of the Constitutional Court judge nomination.”
During the meeting, Park mentioned that “the National Assembly’s Legislative Research Service ruled yesterday that the Prime Minister’s nomination of a constitutional judge is unconstitutional,” pointing out that Lee Wan-kyu, nominated by Han as a Constitutional Court judge, participated in a closed-door meeting right after the rebellion. He emphasized, “While high-ranking official vetting usually takes a month, it took less than two days for Lee’s case.”
Park questioned, “Does the era of reason and common sense mentioned by Han refer to an era endorsing rebellion?” and asserted, “I will not overlook Han’s neglect of people’s livelihoods and his betrayal in protecting the Constitution due to his presidential ambitions.”
Park also criticized the People Power Party, stating, “During Yoon Seok-yeol’s administration and the People Power Party’s rule, the economy has repeatedly failed.” He pointed out that “by adhering only to sound finances, national debt increased by about 205 trillion won over three years, and due to the rebellion’s impact, the national GDP lost 6 trillion and 300 billion won.”
Furthermore, Park noted, “The Democratic Party has been proposing the need for additional budgets since the 21st National Assembly, but the People Power Party has only opposed for the sake of opposition,” and criticized, saying, “They shamelessly claim ‘the economy is People’s Power,’ but actually ‘economic failure’ is People’s Power.”
