Lee Jae-myung, former leader of the Democratic Party, announced a detailed roadmap for his presidential campaign, pledging to usher in a new era of the ‘K-Initiative.’
At a press conference held on the morning of the 11th at the National Assembly communication center, former representative Lee emphasized, “This presidential election is not simply about electing a president for a five-year term,” adding that “the next five years will be a critical period on which the national fate of Korea depends.”
He further added, “We must restore the broken livelihoods, peace, and democracy, and revive the stagnant economy.”
Former leader Lee stated, “Korea achieved the great accomplishment of industrialization amidst the pain of division and the ravages of war,” and emphasized, “Now, there is no longer a model to imitate. The ability to ask questions has become more important than the ability to find answers.”
He continued, “We must break away from the limitations of a ‘function-centered society’ focused solely on ‘quantitative growth’ and transform into a ‘value-centered society’ pursuing ‘qualitative growth.'”
Explaining his vision for ‘Well-being-ism,’ he proposed, “Let’s transform our political, economic, social, and cultural systems, achieved through ‘imitative technology,’ into ones based on ‘leading technology.'”
Regarding his presidential campaign, he stated, “I will make this election a turning point for Korea to open a future of new hope and level up,” explaining that “the vision of the ‘K-Initiative’ is to pioneer an era where Korea leads the world, beyond the great achievements of the past 70 years.”
Former leader Lee evaluated, “Even the IMF crisis, which was considered a great national crisis, was an opportunity for economic reform for our wise and brave people,” and added, “Following the Candlelight Revolution, the Revolution of Light became a beautiful Peace Revolution recorded in world history, and K-Democracy became a global model.”
He further stated, “Ending internal turmoil is merely the first step in achieving our great accomplishments,” and remarked that “the ‘crisis-overcoming DNA’ engraved in the genes of the great Korean people will manifest as infinite passion and bold courage to create a better country.”
Former leader Lee emphasized, “Now, Korea will re-emerge as a ‘first mover’ that the world pays attention to,” and asserted, “The great Korean people are already prepared. I, Lee Jae-myung, will open the path to overcoming crises and achieving a new leap as a great tool for the people.”
