(Daejeon = Yonhap News) Reporter Park Joo-young = Korea Basic Science Institute announced on the 7th that it will hold a “Science Imagination Drawing Contest” to portray the future of South Korea’s science and technology using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in celebration of Science Month.
With the theme “Future □□□ (Location) drawn with my curiosity,” students will have the opportunity to create artworks envisioning the future of science based on instructional videos on the use of generative AI provided by the institute.
From the 7th to the 14th, participants can submit their project proposals through the Junior Doctor website (jrdoctor.kbsi.re.kr). Any youth aged 11-16 can participate.
An orientation for participants will take place near the outdoor stage at Hanbit Tower on the 19th, and artworks created using AI tools can be submitted online from the 19th to the 25th.
Out of the submitted works, 30 will be selected as award-winning pieces, bestowing recognitions such as the Chairperson Award from the National Research Council of Science & Technology (2 recipients), the Daejeon Metropolitan City Mayor’s Award (4 recipients), and the Director’s Award from the Korea Basic Science Institute (24 recipients).
This contest is part of the “Junior Doctor” program, an annual summer vacation youth science culture field experience activity held within the Daedeok Science Town.
