In the wake of the early presidential election prompted by the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-youl, it has been confirmed that Oh Se-hoon, the mayor of Seoul, is considering participating in the People Power Party’s presidential primary. Shin Seon-jong, the spokesperson for the Seoul Metropolitan Government, addressed questions regarding Mayor Oh’s potential presidential candidacy during a regular briefing held at Seoul City Hall today (7th). He stated, “Once the party’s election committee releases the schedule, Mayor Oh is reviewing whether to participate in the primary, although it’s uncertain if he will run.” When asked about Mayor Oh’s stance on the impeachment of former President Yoon, Shin responded, “The impeachment ruling has passed, and there hasn’t been any message, has there? I’d like to respond with that.” Meanwhile, the People Power Party has appointed former emergency committee chairman Hwang Woo-yeo as the chairman of the election management committee for the party’s presidential primary.
