Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed during a policy coordination meeting held at the Gwanghwamun tent office on the 3rd, “Finally, tomorrow the instigator of rebellion, Yoon Seok-yeol, will be dismissed.”
Park stated, “Today is the commemoration day for the victims of the Jeju 4.3 Incident. The sacrifice of the people due to illegal and unjust state violence should never occur again as it constitutes an anti-constitutional crime,” adding, “The 12.3 rebellion incident also constituted such a crime.” He emphasized, “The vivid footage of the martial law forces assaulting a journalist and tying them up with cable ties on the night of the rebellion has been released, exposing the blatant lie of the rebellious forces claiming the cable ties were not for arrest but for blocking.”
Park further remarked, “Various citizens, including prominent conservative figures, are warning that the dismissal of the impeachment signifies a return to military dictatorship, rendering the Constitution worthless. International scholars and foreign media also express concerns that if Yoon Seok-yeol returns, Korea’s crisis and chaos will deepen.” He concluded, “The declaration of martial law, the first proclamation order, the mobilization of armed forces to seize the National Assembly and the Election Commission, and orders to arrest politicians and legal professionals are all definite grounds for dismissal. I firmly believe that the Constitutional Court, as the guardian of the Constitution, will unhesitatingly dismiss the constitutional violator tomorrow.”
