Samsung Electronics showcases AI-driven HVAC systems at Germany’s ‘ISH 2025’

Samsung Electronics announced that it will showcase an AI-enhanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system aimed at the European market at the ‘ISH 2025’ exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany, from the 17th to the 21st of this month.

In a space of approximately 489 square meters (about 150 pyeong), Samsung Electronics will display various HVAC solutions ranging from residential to commercial applications. The showcased products include high-efficiency HVAC systems like the ‘Slim Fit ClimateHub’ heat pump and ‘EHS Mono R290’, along with the newly released ‘Bespoke AI WindFree Combo’, a wall-mounted air conditioner introduced early this year.

The ‘Slim Fit ClimateHub’ is a residential heat pump EHS product with a dedicated 200L water tank. It features an ‘AI Home’ with a 7-inch touchscreen for improved convenience and a slim fit design with a depth of 600mm that complements built-in furniture.

The ‘EHS Mono R290’ heat pump EHS product utilizes the natural refrigerant R290. It can supply high-temperature water up to 75 degrees for heating, as explained by the company.

The new ‘Bespoke AI WindFree Combo’ air conditioner includes Samsung’s unique ‘WindFree’ technology and a humidity sensing and control system. Unlike traditional dehumidification methods that rapidly lower temperature to reduce humidity, the new ‘Comfort Dehumidification’ function maintains a consistent indoor temperature while dehumidifying. The company explains that this technology subtly adjusts the refrigerant to match room humidity, cooling the heat exchanger only as much as needed for efficient performance without unnecessary cold air release.

Samsung Electronics’ exhibition area will also feature a display corner introducing the convenience of device connectivity through the ‘SmartThings’ platform. Visitors can experience scenarios where Samsung home appliances and other connected devices like light bulbs and solar panels work together to enhance home energy efficiency.

Additionally, visitors can explore smart energy management solutions for various commercial spaces, such as hotels and retail stores, the B2B specific integrated connectivity platform ‘SmartThings Pro’, and the building integration solution ‘b.IoT Lite’.

Choi Hang-seok, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliances Division, stated, “We are expanding our influence in the global HVAC market based on our unique WindFree technology, high-efficiency energy technology, and convenient connectivity,” adding that “we will present a variety of optimized products tailored to the needs and environments of different regions.”
