The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 14th that it is accepting applications from facilities, institutions, and organizations for the 2025 integrated call for projects aimed at the social expansion of humanistic and cultural values, in collaboration with the Korea Arts and Culture Commission. This initiative includes six projects: “Humanities on the Road,” “Wisdom School,” “Teenage Humanities Class,” “Teenage Humanities Experiment,” “Mid-to-late Life Youth Culture Space,” and “Humanities Video Content,” with a total budget of over 10 billion KRW.
Previously, these projects were individually called throughout the year, but from this year they will be handled through an integrated call. For projects like the “Teenage Humanities Class” and “Mid-to-late Life Youth Culture Space,” they will transition from being planned and operated by supervising bodies or performing companies to selecting and supporting excellent programs directly planned by local cultural foundations and public institutions.
An incentive system has also been introduced for outstanding cases or programs. The top 20% evaluated as excellent will receive continuous support the following year, ensuring stable operation. Additionally, new humanities projects that contribute to solving social issues, such as programs addressing digital over-immersion in youth, will be launched.
The Ministry will hold online business briefings about this integrated call via the Korean Arts Commission’s official YouTube channel on the 18th and 20th. Applications will be accepted from March 19 to April 7, and the final selection results will be announced at the end of April. Lee Jung-woo, the Director of the Culture and Arts Policy Office of the Ministry, expressed his hope that these newly launched humanities projects will enhance the quality of life for the public and elevate the dignity of society.
