Ulsan City’s Special Task Collection Team Aims for 3.7 Billion Won in Collections This Year… 72% Achieved in Two Months

(Ulsan=News1) Reporter Kim Ji-hye: The Ulsan Special Task Collection Team, which focuses on collecting large amounts of overdue local taxes, announced on the 12th that it has collected 2.7 billion won in overdue local taxes over the past two months.

The target amount for collection by the Special Task Collection Team is over 18.6 billion won, and their collection goal for this year is at least 3.7 billion won.

Before commencing full-scale collection activities, they received records of arrears over 3 million won from districts and counties and collected basic data to identify delinquent taxpayers’ information.

In addition to conducting surveys on the actual status of the subjects, they employed all collection techniques such as checking the financial assets of those owing over 10 million won, garnishing salaries of delinquent taxpayers, checking insurance policies, and seizing construction machinery equipment, to carry out intensive collection activities.

As a result, the city explained that they achieved a collection amount of 2.7 billion won, reaching 72.6% of their annual goal of 3.7 billion won.

Ulsan City will continue to carry out intensive collection activities against delinquents and intends to apply a zero-tolerance policy to offenders of local tax evasions for decisive punishment.

A city official stated, “We will relentlessly track the assets of habitual and large delinquent taxpayers who intentionally evade taxes to foster an environment of sincere tax payment and to realize tax justice.”

Meanwhile, Ulsan City established and has been operating the Special Task Collection Team since 2023, and last year, they collected 2.97 billion won in overdue taxes from 307 large delinquent taxpayers.
