“Let’s Go with Our Pets”… Kakao Mobility Unveils ‘Pet Travel Map’

Camo-Korea Tourism Organization Collaboration…Information on ’10 Pet-Friendly Travel Destinations’ Based on Kakao Navi Data
‘[edaily reporter Kim Bum-jun] Kakao Mobility announced on the 11th that in celebration of ‘International Puppy Day (March 23)’, they have released the ‘Pet Travel Map’ based on Kakao Navi data in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization.’

The ‘Pet Travel Map’ is an illustrated guide that analyzes the vast movement data accumulated on Kakao Navi to provide information on pet-friendly travel destinations, as part of an effort to offer ‘customized content for users.’ Kakao Mobility, using the ‘Top 100 Pet Tourism Resources’ selected by the Korea Tourism Organization and navigation data from Kakao Navi over the past year (February 2024 – January 2025), identified 10 excellent travel spots to visit with pets.

The selected ’10 Pet-Friendly Travel Destinations’ include major attractions nationwide such as: ‘Suncheon Ohcheon Green Plaza’ in Jeollanam-do, known for its expansive lawn; ‘Kkotji Beach’ in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, ideal for flower path walks with dogs; ‘Suseong Lake Resort’ in Daegu, where you can enjoy a pedal boat ride with your dog; ‘Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex’ in Gyeongsangbuk-do, perfect for taking cherry blossom photos with dogs; and the ‘Iksan Prison Set’ in Jeollabuk-do, offering unique photoshoot opportunities.

The Pet Travel Map includes beneficial tourism information for users, such as ‘day-of-the-week visit ratios’ for each site based on the number of Kakao Navi navigation users, ‘Top 3 nearby popular spots’ to visit with pets, and ‘hashtags’ detailing the characteristics of each destination. This data is based on a comprehensive analysis of movement data from a three-month period from March 1 to May 31 of last year.

The Pet Travel Map can be accessed via the KakaoT and Kakao Navi apps, as well as on the domestic travel information platform ‘Korea Tourism Organization’s Visit Korea’ operated by the Korea Tourism Organization. By saving pet-friendly travel destinations and nearby popular spots to favorite locations on the Pet Travel Map page, users can conveniently receive navigation services through Kakao Navi.

Additionally, through the integrated search function of KakaoT, users can check travel means and estimated time for each destination. Those without private vehicles, utilizing services like KakaoT Pet and rent-a-car, can book transportation directly through the KakaoT app.

Park Sang-hyun, Kakao Mobility’s marketing director, stated, “We will continue to analyze the vast data accumulated in Kakao Navi from multiple angles to provide a variety of information useful for actual travel journeys.”
