In early March, export figures slightly increased compared to the same period last year. According to the Korea Customs Service, exports from the beginning of this month to yesterday (the 10th) amounted to 13.9 billion dollars, marking a 2.9% increase from the same period last year.
By category, semiconductors, which increased by 0.03% from a year ago, accounted for the largest share, followed by ships, which saw a significant increase of 55.2%.
Additionally, passenger car exports rose by 6.2%, but exports of petroleum products and auto parts decreased by 0.7% and 7.6%, respectively.
In early March, imports reached 15.9 billion dollars, marking a 7.3% increase from the same period last year, resulting in a trade deficit of 2 billion dollars.
