A couple in their 60s, who went missing after going to gather oysters in the mudflat in Haenam County, Jeonnam, were found dead.

The Wando Coast Guard announced that they discovered the body of Mr. A at around 7:32 AM on the 3rd, near the western coast of Galdu Port in Songji-myeon, Haenam County.

The Coast Guard received a report at around 3 PM on the 1st that Mr. A and his wife had gone to gather oysters and then disappeared.

During a search of the area, the Coast Guard found Mr. A approximately 2.5 km away from the presumed point where they went missing.

Mr. B, the husband, was found dead the day before at around 4:03 PM, during a drone search 1 km southeast of Galdu Port.

It is reported that no signs of trauma or other criminal activities were found on the couple’s bodies.

The Coast Guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, suspecting that the couple may have been caught in an accident due to a sudden change in tidal currents during the spring tide period when the tidal difference is most significant.
