(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Cho Seung-han = The Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) announced on the 24th that it has published the “DE&I Report in the Science and Technology Sector,” which includes strategies for promoting the values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I).
In the report, WISET developed 76 detailed indicators to measure and determine directions for improvement of the DE&I level in the science and technology sector.
It also highlighted case studies of major companies and institutions practicing DE&I, such as Kakao, which established ethical standards for AI technology, and KAIST, which announced a “Diversity and Inclusion Declaration.”
Moon Ae-ri, the chairperson of WISET, stated, “The promotion of DE&I for establishing an innovation ecosystem in the science and technology sector is no longer optional but essential,” emphasizing continuous efforts to foster an inclusive research culture based on diversity.
