Ulsan University Hospital Receives ‘Grade 1’ for Hemodialysis Adequacy Evaluation for Three Consecutive Rounds

Ulsan University Hospital has received the highest grade in the evaluation of the adequacy of hemodialysis. The hospital announced on the 20th that it earned a first-grade rating in the 2023 (Phase 2, First Cycle) hemodialysis adequacy evaluation released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.

The evaluation, conducted from January to June 2023, targeted medical institutions nationwide that perform hemodialysis. The Review and Assessment Service assessed various structural aspects, including workforce, facilities, and equipment at institutions providing hemodialysis. Additionally, the review included regular test intervals for hemodialysis and compliance with adequacy standards in the evaluation process and results.

Medical institutions are classified from grade 1 to 5 based on this evaluation. Ulsan University Hospital recorded a comprehensive score of 95.8, significantly surpassing the overall hospital average of 82.4 points. As a result, Ulsan University Hospital has been selected for the first grade in three consecutive evaluations since 2020.

In particular, Ulsan University Hospital scored highly in major indicators such as the composition of specialized medical staff for hemodialysis, emergency equipment and infection control systems for patient safety, and management of hemodialysis patients. Professor Kyeong-seon Park, head of the Artificial Kidney Room and nephrologist at Ulsan University Hospital, stated, “We are continuously striving to provide safe and high-quality medical services.”
