A photo with a full moon backdrop: “Snap!” … “Come visit Changgyeonggung Palace for Daeboreum.”

**A Model Moon to be Installed Near Punggidae from the 11th to the 16th… Celestial Observation Event on the 12th**

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Yena – The Cultural Heritage Administration’s Royal Palaces Heritage Division announced on the 10th that it will host the event “Jeongwol Daeboreum, The Full Moon Descends on Changgyeonggung” in collaboration with the National Children’s Science Museum from the 11th to the 16th of this month.

During the event, a model of the full moon will be installed around Punggidae in Changgyeonggung. Punggidae, designated as a treasure in 1985, is a flagpole base for measuring wind direction and strength. It is an artifact that offers a glimpse into the meteorological observation history of the Joseon Dynasty, located on the hill behind Jibbokheon.

The full moon model is expected to shine brightly from 6 PM to 8:30 PM.

On the 12th, the day of Jeongwol Daeboreum, there will be a moon observation event held in front of the Great Greenhouse from 7 PM to 8:30 PM, in collaboration with the National Children’s Science Museum.

Anyone visiting Changgyeonggung at night can enjoy the full moon model. However, if it snows or rains or if the weather is cloudy on the day of the full moon, the event may be canceled.

The Changgyeonggung Management Office plans to award Changgyeonggung-related books to ten people drawn from those who upload photos taken with the Changgyeonggung full moon as a background to social networking services (SNS) with the hashtag ‘#창경궁보름달’.
