[SpoTV News Reporter Kim Joon-seok] Singer IU apologized at a 90-degree angle to her junior group IVE, who debuted 13 years after her.
On the 20th, IU’s YouTube channel ‘IU’s Palette’ released a video titled ‘[IU’s Palette] ‘I’ Family Gather and Launch (With IVE) Ep.31′.
In the video, IU mentioned her encounter with IVE, stating, “We use the same shop, but this is the first time we’ve greeted or talked to each other.”
IU continued, “We have a behind-the-scenes story. We actually had plans to invite the members of IVE to ‘Palette’ earlier. It was in the works. I sincerely apologize again.” IU then bowed 90 degrees as an act of apology.
It turns out IU had to cancel the recording due to a high fever. She explained the situation by saying, “This was the first time I had to cancel a ‘Palette’ recording. On the scheduled day when I got up, I felt something was off. I had such a high fever that I went straight to the hospital and canceled the recording. I was truly sorry.”
IU further revealed, “But I’ve seen Liz once in the elevator. I approached Liz and said, ‘Excuse me, I’m IU. I’m really sorry. Please convey my apology to the IVE members as well.’ It was the thing I felt worst about in 2024.” Liz commented that she was very surprised and flustered upon meeting IU.
In response, the surprised IVE members shook their heads, saying, “It’s okay.” Jang Wonyoung added, “We only talked about how you need to recover quickly.”
IU concluded, “I know how busy IVE is, setting aside a day for ‘Palette.’ Today, I’ll do my best to treat you with the utmost care, making up for my past errors,” generating laughter.
