Red Velvet’s Joy has renewed her contract with SM Entertainment.

Joy completed the renewal of her contract based on the trust built over a long period with SM and plans to continue her activities under SM’s full support.

Joy expressed, “After exchanging deep conversations with those I’ve been with for ten years based on trust and belief, I felt that I want to continue moving forward together in a good direction.” She added, “I will do my best to show various sides of myself to the fans through positive synergy with SM.”

Additionally, SM stated, “Following Seulgi and Irene, we are pleased to continue a beautiful journey with Joy. We will strive to let her fully showcase her infinite potential, not only as a part of Red Velvet but also as a solo artist ‘Joy’ and actress ‘Park Soo-young.'”

Red Velvet, who debuted in August 2014 with “Happiness,” has produced numerous hit songs with a unique concept and diverse musical colors for each album, such as “Ice Cream Cake,” “Red Flavor,” “Feel My Rhythm,” and “Cosmic.” The group successfully wrapped up their 10th-anniversary Asian fan concert tour last September, reaffirming their strong global power.

Particularly, Joy released a special album “Hello” in 2021 and received wide-ranging love across generations with her iconic charm and clear voice as a solo artist. She is also actively crossing various fields, including being an MC for TV programs, dramas, OSTs, and fashion.
