Singer Na Hoon-a Concludes 58-Year Music Career

Singer Na Hoon-a is concluding his 58-year career. He announced his retirement last year and is holding farewell concerts until the 13th. Known for not hiding his opinions on sensitive political issues, Na Hoon-a continued to criticize the political arena during the first stage of his farewell performance on the 10th.

Na Hoon-a will lay down the microphone after his final performance at the ‘2024 Na Hoon-a Thank You – Last Concert’ held at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, from the 10th to the 13th. After declaring his retirement from the music industry in February last year, he spent about a year touring and bidding farewell to fans in various regions such as Daejeon, Gangneung, Andong, Jinju, Incheon, and Gwangju. The Seoul concert serves as the culminating event.

Since debuting in 1967, as he disclosed himself, Na Hoon-a has consistently released hit songs like ‘Musiro,’ ‘Weeds,’ ‘Hongshi,’ and ‘Tess-hyung.’ In a letter revealed through his agency last October, he expressed that although he couldn’t fully anticipate his feelings about experiencing a final stage for the first time, his heart was filled with the same determination to perform energetically and excellently as always.

During the farewell performance, he delivered strong criticism of the political circles. On the 10th, he pointed to his left arm and asked, “Did you do well?” and then raised both arms saying, “The left is blaming the right for mistakes,” pointing out the confusion in the political landscape caused by issues like martial law and impeachment proceedings.
