Xiaomi establishes ‘Xiaomi Korea’ subsidiary to target domestic consumers.

Xiaomi has established a Korean branch to officially enter the domestic market. On the 6th, a representative from Xiaomi Korea stated, “Through the establishment of the Korean branch, we aim to communicate more closely with consumers and deliver differentiated value with locally tailored products and services.”

According to the telecommunications industry, Xiaomi recently set up its Korean branch, ‘Xiaomi Technology Korea’ (hereafter referred to as Xiaomi Korea), at the Mirae Asset Center One building in Euljiro, Seoul, and hired 12 employees.

Xiaomi Korea plans to soon open its own offline store, ‘Mi Store,’ in the Seoul area, to actively expand its sales network. On the 15th, Xiaomi Korea will hold a press conference to unveil a large number of new smart device products.

The product lineup includes five categories: smartphones, wearables, TVs, robot vacuum cleaners, and power banks, offering a wide range of price points from budget to premium to broaden the choices for domestic consumers.

In the smartphone lineup, the latest model ’14T’ from the premium brand ‘Xiaomi’ and one new product from the ‘Redmi Note 14’ series, which emphasizes practicality and reasonable pricing, will be unveiled.

The ‘Xiaomi 14T’ is the first Leica co-developed smartphone in the Xiaomi lineup to be introduced in Korea. With a camera equipped with Leica’s premium Summilux optical lens, it offers four focus distances from 15mm to 100mm, allowing high-quality photography of various subjects from landscapes to portraits.

It also features the latest AI functions. Google’s AI Assistant ‘Gemini’ allows device control through natural conversation, and ‘Circle to Search’ enables intuitive search of information on the screen. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display delivers a clear screen with a maximum brightness of 4000 nits and a 144 Hz refresh rate.

The new ‘Redmi Note 14’ series of the mid-range smartphone market is characterized by its durability. It is resistant to everyday shocks and scratches with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The flagship-level 200-megapixel main camera captures clear photos even in low-light environments and offers up to 30x zoom.

Xiaomi Korea will introduce one model from the Redmi Note 14 series domestically on the 15th, following the global launch on the 10th. The previous Redmi Note 13 series received acclaim from global consumers, recording sales of 410,000 units within an hour of its launch.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Korea is launching a new official online store and conducting various promotions. By registering for a Mi account and completing missions, consumers can receive up to 30,000 won worth of points and a chance to win a 50% discount coupon by lottery. The purchase of new products will be available starting from the 15th.
