Emart Hosts ‘Gourmet Festa’ on New Year’s Day… 50% Discount on Korean Beef, Octopus, and More

[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Joo Dong-il: Emart announced on the 27th that it will introduce its first discount event of the new year, “Go-reat Festival.”

The Go-reat Festival, running from January 1 to 5 next year, is a large-scale discount event newly introduced by Emart for 2025. This event is an extension of Emart’s ongoing “price innovation” to strengthen its core business competitiveness. It combines ultra-low prices that are only possible at Emart, along with exclusive product launches.

The Go-reat Festival, kicking off the new year, offers significant discounts on a selection of 14 “Go-reat Items” and a 50% discount when purchasing two or more items in each category.

The highlight products include Korean beef and domestic pork. On January 1 and 2, all “brand Korean beef items (chilled, domestic)” will be offered at a 50% discount when paid for with the event card, and domestic pork belly and pork neck will receive the same discount on January 3 and 4. Particularly, domestic pork belly and pork neck are priced at 1,490 won per 100g, which is even lower than the promotional price (1,590 won per 100g) during Emart’s 31st-anniversary sale in November.

During a previous anniversary event, Emart completely sold out 250 tons of domestic pork prepared over a week. For seafood, “boiled Korean octopus” will be sold at 50% off for five days with full payment on the event card, priced at 2,980 won per 100g. This supply, caught around Yeosu, Namhae, and Tongyeong, is noted for its excellent quality. Emart’s seafood buyer reserved 25 tons for the Go-reat Festival since August, planning the event at recent five-year low price levels.

In-season winter strawberries have also been selected as Go-reat Items, available at a 20% discount for all strawberry varieties on January 1 and 2 with Shinsegae Points. Moreover, the “Price Stability Apples (4-8 pieces)” were pre-planned with Emart contract farms in key apple regions such as Mungyeong, Yeongju, and Andong, securing 500 tons of high-quality apples. These are sold for 5,980 won throughout the five-day festival.

The Emart-exclusive “Dyson V12 Origin Fluffy” vacuum cleaner will be discounted by 250,000 won with full event card payment, bringing the price to 378,000 won. This model launched in late October features the same vacuum performance, dust bin capacity, and weight, but has streamlined accessories to boost price competitiveness.

Emart also offers a promotion where purchasing three or more curated Go-reat Items earns 2,000 e-money points, usable at offline Emart stores. Additionally, from January 3 to 5, Emart will enhance discounts under the concept of continuing until “customers say yes,” offering up to 50% off major products such as processed foods and daily necessities, and special bundle deals.

Instant noodles, big pies, Mong Shell pastry, and instant soups will be available as part of a “pick three for 9,900 won” deal. Condiments like gochujang, doenjang, ssamjang, frozen dumplings, Korean tofu, refrigerated udon for two, zero-calorie sodas, frozen pizzas, and hot dogs will be discounted by 50% when purchasing two or more. Additionally, daily necessities such as body lotion, razors with 8 blades, handwash, hair dye, and electric toothbrushes will be offered at a 50% discount per category when buying two or more items.

Throughout the five days of the Go-reat Festival, nutritional supplements, Persil, Perwoll, Pigeon, and Beat laundry detergents, and Cody Beige Soft tissues are available at a 50% discount when purchasing two or more. All iPhone 16 models are also discounted by 150,000 won with full payment on the event card.

Meanwhile, Emart will release a Super Sale video for “Go-reat Festival” for the New Year on the 27th. The 2025 “Go-reat Campaign” video can be viewed on Emart’s official YouTube channel and at its offline stores.
