JYP Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as JYP) stated that they plan to take all necessary measures to ensure that the company and other members are not further harmed in relation to a lawsuit filed by KG, a member of their multinational girl group VCHA based in the U.S.
On December 9th, JYP USA released an official statement explaining that KG left the group’s accommodation last May and requested discussions through a legal representative. As a result, JYP suspended VCHA’s future activity plans and engaged in discussions with KG’s representative to explore various solutions. However, JYP USA noted that there has been no response from KG’s side concerning the discussions, leaving their representative waiting for a reply.
JYP expressed regret over KG’s decision to unilaterally announce false and exaggerated claims and file a lawsuit, emphasizing that this has caused significant harm to the other VCHA members and the company’s preparation for an album release and various plans in the first half of 2025.
JYP USA affirmed that they would take all necessary actions to prevent further damage to the company and the other members of VCHA.
VCHA was formed last year through the joint survival audition program A2K by JYP and Republic Records in the U.S. and made their official debut this January.
KG posted a statement on her social media, announcing her decision to terminate her contract and leave VCHA following incidents of abuse from certain staff members, and filing a lawsuit. She mentioned making this decision in May and is currently awaiting contract termination while expressing concern for the other girls remaining in VCHA.
