MUSINSA Winter Black Friday: 180,000 Visitors and Accumulated Sales of 365.4 Billion Won

MUSINSA reported on the 9th that its largest annual discount event, “Mujinjang Winter Black Friday,” achieved record high sales. The event, which ended at midnight on the 4th, involved 4,000 participating brands and recorded an accumulated online store sales amount of 365.4 billion won.

Sales exceeded last year’s total for the event a day before it ended, marking a 21% increase compared to the previous year. Over 7.3 million items were sold, and as of 11:59 PM on December 4th, orders surged to reach a peak of 720 items per second.

High-priced winter apparel was actively traded, leading to an increase in the average spending per customer. The average transaction amount per customer during this event was approximately 164,000 won, which is 50% higher than that of the “Mujinjang Summer Black Friday” held in August. Customers purchased an average of 3.18 items each.

The live broadcast showcasing an unprecedented lineup of brands was also a success. The accumulated transaction amount from the 25 live broadcast sessions hit around 9.5 billion won, with total viewers surpassing 3.7 million, averaging 150,000 viewers per session.

Foot traffic continued at the offline locations hosting the Mujinjang Winter Black Friday event. During the event duration, nearly 180,000 people visited MUSINSA Stores in Hongdae, Daegu, and Seongsu at Daerim Warehouse. From November 22 to December 4, the sales at the Hongdae and Daegu stores increased by more than 50% compared to the previous year’s event. When combined with the sales from the Seongsu at Daerim Warehouse store, which opened in September, the offline sales for this year’s Mujinjang Black Friday have grown by 130% compared to the previous year.

The “Mujinjang Outlet Popup IN Seongsu,” held over two sessions for a total of six days, attracted 17,000 visitors and sold over 140,000 items.

A MUSINSA representative stated, “Celebrating its third anniversary, Mujinjang has been expanding its scale and benefits every year, establishing itself as a leading fashion discount event. This growth in performance was achieved amid high customer interest and response this year, contributing to increased sales for participating brands by revitalizing the previously sluggish winter product sales, making it an even more meaningful outcome.”
