(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Jeong-hyun = KT Skylife announced on the 5th that they conducted the “SL Wise Language Use” campaign to simplify complex broadcasting and telecom industry terms from the customer’s perspective.

For about six months, Skylife identified terms from the provider’s perspective, technical terms, foreign words, and Chinese characters that were difficult for customers to understand through employee interviews and field surveys, and replaced them with easy and familiar everyday language.

‘IP connection’ was improved to ‘internet connection’, ‘subscription’ to ‘application’, and ‘affiliate card’ to ‘discount card’.

Additionally, the metric ‘QoS’ (Quality of Service) used for measuring and controlling communication for network quality management was expressed as ‘minimum data speed guarantee system’, and IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) was expressed as ‘mobile phone identification number’.

The improved language was applied to a total of over 600 items, including the Skylife website, mobile application, text messages, and customer service scripts.

Jaewook Choi, Executive Vice President of the Digital Customer Division at KT Skylife, said, “We will continue to strive to deliver language and values that can resonate more with customers through the campaign.”
