On the 5th, Lee forcefully stated, “We must impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol,” during a supreme council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. He urged the ruling party lawmakers to participate in the upcoming impeachment vote against President Yoon, stating, “The People Power Party should not become accomplices in a grave crime like treason.”
Lee further remarked, “It is our responsibility to ensure that martial law does not resurrect from its grave,” and mentioned, “I’ve tried reaching out to Representative Han Dong-hoon by phone and through the chief of staff, but there has been no response.”
He then urged Representative Han to “have the courage to fulfill your historical responsibility. If you try to seek personal gain, not only will you fail to obtain it, but you will also incur losses, as is the law of the world.” He reiterated, “The People Power Party must resist President Yoon’s attempt to become an absolute monarch dreaming of being a king.”
