The international negotiations held in Busan to establish a global agreement to combat plastic pollution concluded at 3 AM today without reaching a final consensus. Despite significant progress made over the week-long discussions, agreement could not be achieved due to opposition from oil-producing countries regarding proposals to regulate plastic production.
Member countries plan to continue with additional negotiations next year based on the achievements from the Busan meeting.
